How to use Teyvat GPS

Teyvat GPS follows your position on the Genshin Impact map by reading your minimap from a shared screen. This guide covers the setup, every control on the map, and what to do when tracking gets lost. The same guide is also available inside the map, from the button in the bottom-left corner.

You don't have to share your screen to use the map. Filters, markers and your collected list all work on their own. Sharing is what makes your position follow you as you play.

Playing fullscreen? The free Shortcuts extension lets you toggle auto-collect and follow with hotkeys, without ever leaving the game.

Getting started

Three steps from opening the game to seeing yourself on the map.

  1. 1

    Open Genshin Impact

    • Launch Genshin Impact and enter the game world.
    • Keep your in-game minimap visible while using Teyvat GPS
    • Lock the minimap to north if it isn't already
    • To do this, go to Settings > Others > Mini-map Settings > Fixed
  2. 2

    Share your screen

    • Press Share screen and pick what your browser offers.
    • Share only the Genshin Impact window
    • Playing fullscreen? Share your entire screen instead
  3. 3

    Teleport to get found

    • Teleport points are where tracking starts.
    • Teleport to a Waypoint, Statue of The Seven or Domain
    • Teyvat GPS finds you there, then follows you as you move

Troubleshooting

Most of these sort themselves out. When they don't, the fix is usually one click.

Your position disappears
You're probably in a menu, your inventory, a dialogue or the full map. Once you close it, tracking picks up right where it left off.
Your position looks off right after teleporting
It usually corrects itself within a few seconds. If it doesn't, press Find me and click where you are.
You walked into a cave
Caves are detected automatically. The floor panel opens and tracking continues on the right floor.
The map zooms in inside cities or caves
That's normal. The game zooms its minimap in those places and Teyvat GPS adjusts to it on its own.
Your position stops moving
Press Find me and click where you actually are.
It locked onto the wrong cave floor
First press Back to the surface in the floor panel, then use Find me. The order matters: Find me searches on whichever floor is open when you click.
You stopped sharing
Press Share screen again. Your setup is remembered, so there's nothing to redo.

Never finds your position at all

Try these in order, easiest first.

  1. 1

Teleport to any Statue, Teleport Waypoint, Domain entrance or anything else teleportable. Those are exactly the spots the tracker checks first.

  2. 2

Make sure the minimap is north-locked: Settings › Others › Minimap Settings › Fixed.

  3. 3

Check the crop preview in the bottom-right corner. Your minimap should be fully visible there, not cut off.

  4. 4

Make sure nothing covers your minimap, like buff icons, notifications or other overlays.

  5. 5

Still nothing? Press Find me and click your actual location.

  6. 6

None of this worked? Press Options › Readjust manually and redo the setup, or ask for help in the Discord. Setting it up by hand takes some care, but it fits the capture to your exact screen instead of the automatic guess.
